TILLER-HAND® tiller control system

TILLER-HAND is a tiller control system that's based on a time tested principle: A control line secured at the port and starboard quarters is fed through a friction brake at the tiller. The brake is adjustable so that the tiller can be locked in any position, or can be allowed a selected degree of movement, or can be fully free .

The TILLER-HAND is a boon to the single handed and short handed sailor:

TILLER-HAND FEATURES

  • When sailing, tension applied by the TILLER-HAND keeps the helm under control, preventing the tiller from moving until you apply effort. This frees you to move around the boat, tending to sail trim and other activities. You need only nudge the tiller from time to time, making minor corrections, no longer a prisoner to the helm.
  • When motoring, the propeller wash tends to push the rudder fully over if the tiller is let go, making it impossible to leave the helm to stow sails or prepare mooring lines. TILLER-HAND frees you from the helm by locking the rudder on course.
  • TILLER-HAND doesn't intrude on cockpit space because the control lines leave the tiller at 45 degrees, back towards the quarters. This also avoids any possible interference with an auto-pilot.
  • TILLER-HAND can be fully released with a few turns of the control knob, putting you back in command of the helm in an instant.

TILLER-HAND is constructed from strong, wear-resistant, reinforced plastic and stainless steel for durability and longevity in a marine environment. TILLER-HAND is compact and unobtrusive, can be mounted on the top or bottom of the tiller and is easy to install.

The Delrin® pulley running on stainless steel ball bearings ensures smooth, even operation.

Motor Grip™

The Motor Grip™ provides a secure, top mounted, ergonomic lifting handle for outboard motors.

For transferring your outboard from transom to cockpit, from tender to boat or from boat to dock the Motor Grip allows you to keep ‘'one hand for yourself'’. Lifting an outboard motor vertically requires two hands and a precarious balancing act! The Motor Grip provides a single comfortable lifting handle on top of the motor, leaving your other hand free to support yourself.

Made in UK from strong polyester webbing and acetal snap buckles the Motor Grip can be quickly and easily attached to the motor.

Should you wish, Motor Grip can be permanently left on the motor – it won’t interfere with motor operation.

Clipper™ Davit Sling for inflatable, RIBS and hard dinghies

These top quality davit slings provide the central connecting point for your dinghy davit hoists. They comprise two polyester webbing straps attached to a stainless steel lifting ring, each strap terminating in a stainless steel snap hook.

Made from heavy duty polyester webbing and 316 grade stainless steel these davit slings have a safe working load in excess of 250 lbs, suitable for dinghies and RIB’s up to 12’ long. The polyester webbing has a breaking strength of 2500 lbs.

Typically two davit slings are used, one attached at the transom and the other attached to the internal lifting rings, or the towing rings, at the bow. One sling is connected to each davit hoist.

If required a single point hoist can be provided simply by bringing the two rings together and attaching the lifting line through both.
Most large dinghies are fitted with eye bolts in the transom and bow lifting rings; but if your dinghy doesn’t have them they can be fitted quite easily. Glue-on rings are available in Hypalon and PVC at most dinghy accessory suppliers.

Davit slings are available in three leg lengths: 13”, 16” and 20”. In most applications a pair of slings the same length, bow and transom, will be the right choice. If you intend to use the external bow rings for lifting the front end, however, you might choose a longer sling for the front, paired with a shorter sling at the transom.

Mooringmate™mooring system

Mooringmate™ is a system that lets you get a line onto a mooring buoy, dock cleat or mooring ring easily and safely. The mooring line is attached to the Mooringmate™ stainless steel mooring hook which clips into its trigger clip mounted on a boathook or other suitable pole. The mooring hook with mooring warp attached is presented to the buoy or cleat using the boat hook.
